SCIENTIFIC FACILITATOR DURING "PLANÈTES EN GUYANE" IN FRENCH GUIANA

"Planètes en Guyane" is a scientific outreach operation that took place along the coastline of French Guiana, supported by Paris Observatory on the occasion of the launch of the BepiColombo space mission (October 19, Kourou). I participated as a volunteer animator for SpaceBus France.

 

The team met classes and the general public to present:

- the solar system;

- the BepiColombo space mission;

- the different fields of astrophysics and space engineering.

CO-SUPERVISION OF AN OBSERVATION NIGHT WITH TELESCOPES

Participants: 250 pupils with their parents.

SCIENTIFIC FACILITATOR DURING "SPACEBUS MAROC 2016" IN MOROCCO

"Spacebus Maroc 2016" is an itinerant outreach operation that took place in Morocco, supported by Paris Observatory.


A truck designed for the occasion crossed different villages and towns along a 3000 km itinerary, allowing about 15 000 people from all social categories to be initiated to science through astronomy.

- Introduction about what a star looks like,  what happens in its interior and how it evolves.
- Presentation of the red giant phase: when and under which conditions a star becomes a red giant.
- Description of asteroseismology: how can we detect stellar oscillations, why red giants are so interesting targets for asteroseismology, what do we learn when studying the red giant rotation.

SUPERVISION OF VISITS OF PARIS OBSERVATORY FOR ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL PUPILS
